In a society filled with smartphones, social media, instant news, and 500 horsepower, it is easy for one to expect things to be fast. Don’t get me wrong, speed is great. It allows us to have more time for more activities, family, hobbies, and friends. However, not everything is fast. Not everything needs to be fast.

In fact, sometimes it is far better to take things slow. That being said, if you are focusing on the speed of a particular event, situation, emotion, or outcome then you are focusing on the wrong thing. Try to focus on progression. Appreciate the changes that occur in growth periods. Be patient with yourself, as well as others. If you focus on progress and fall in love with the process, then the quickness of a particular change you want in life won’t matter.
